Catering to You
I have been happily soaked in hospitality for 28 years. I am lucky or some would say not so lucky to work under five of the worlds most amazing but temperamental chefs in the world. I started at Kirby’s Creekside in Nevada City, CA. with Chef Robert Perez. I then became inspired by Chef James Rix in Saranac Lake N.Y. where he worked at the five star resort the Lodge. Eager to travel abroad I landed in London where my new chef de cuisine was noted as one of London’s top 50 chefs, adel Qatramiz. Moving back to the states I was able to squeeze in an education at Sacramento State in Native American studies. For a short while I was hired by united airlines based out of Boston. After 9/11 I fell back into what I knew best… Restaurants. The stars aligned and I was given the opportunity to challenge myself and further my knowledge in hospitality as Events coordinator at Mamma Maria’s. Located in Boston’s North End and across the street from Paul revere’s house, Mamma maria’s is hands down the best Italian restaurant in Boston! This is also where my romance with wine knowledge began. I had a wonderful and witty General manager who was also our sommelier. This meant we were going to learn vino. Fine wine! I absorbed all I could. Literally. The next door that opened for me was a position working for millionaire Kevin Stoneburner in Naples, FL. Kevin didn’t just own condos, three restaurants, a bar, and a farmers’ market… He owns an entire village. the position given was project manage, the inner workings of the village and orchestrating present and future events. Floating manager between the restaurants, tavern on the bay, entertainment, farmers’ markets and canoe races. Any event Stoney wanted executed… make it happen! My husband then imported me from Naples to Denver where I dabbled more in the wine business becoming a wine rep for Vino Veritas wine distributers. Our family relocated to Cave Creek, AZ three years ago and I have been my own boss ever since. Creating my own menus and Meeting some of the most kind, fun, and interesting individuals in the area. Including those visiting from around the world. This opportunity to create and share my passion for food & wine is an incredible experience.
Now about the food. All of the teachings and travels throughout my life got marinated into my dishes. My menu reflects my life and those who have worked alongside me for so many years. We support our community by using locally sourced + organic foods. We like to incorporate local businesses to boost the community’s overall performance… Local bakery, farms, photographers, florists, pastry chef and service staff. We come together like a well-oiled machine to make your events a success!
